As SLTP completes 20 years this year, we revisit some of the success stories and timely conservation actions of our partners.
On April 29, 2018, the villagers at Shiladevi village of Pench Tiger Reserve Maharashtra informed the Satpuda Foundation team about a massive forest fire behind their village.
Team members and volunteers of Satpuda Foundation-Bandu, Balkrishna and Abhijit reached the location and worked hard to dose off the fire with some local community members. They informed the forest department staff who later arrived with blowers to manage the forest fire. Around 20 hectares of forest was saved from burning down due to their timely efforts.
