Ms. Arti Fule, a Forest Guard from the Gondia Forest Division, Maharashtra State Forest Department, was presented the 2024 Satpuda Landscape Tiger Partnership (SLTP) Conservation Hero Award for her conservation efforts in the central Indian landscape, particularly her contribution to anti-poaching and protection measures as a member the Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) in Pench Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra. The award includes a certificate and a cheque of Rs.25,000.

Through its annual Conservation Hero Award, supported by well-wisher Tony Renton from London, SLTP aims to recognize and foster the conservation work of individuals working at the grassroots level.

  • Tiger and Wildlife Monitoring and Protection: As a member of the STPF,Ms. Fule played a crucial role in monitoring and protecting tigers and other wildlife within the Pench Tiger Reserve. Her efforts not only helped in safeguarding endangered species but also ensured the overall health of the ecosystem.
  • Wildlife Rescue Operations: As part of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU), Ms. Fule took part in wildlife rescue operations, saving numerous lives and mitigating threats to wildlife in the region through her swift and effective actions.
